About

I love what I do.

To me, this is not a job, it is a passion.  A passion for creating work that matters, that is distinctive, that is elegant, that is made for wearing today, tomorrow, for years to come.

It is a solitary pursuit, and a very slow and delicate process.  Because of this, I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.

It is important to me that I share the stories that inspire each collection I create.  Inspiration comes from both the smallest and the grandest things and concepts around me that I consider to be beautiful.  Most often, my collections are inspired by Canada;  its landscape, its people, its inimitability and the horizontal connections between them.

Sometimes, I'm looking intently at the smallest pebble in an ancient riverbed, or a tiny scrap from the forest floor.  Sometimes, I'm looking way up above the earth into the sky, straining to see as much as I can and realizing there is so much more beyond what my eyes can possibly ever see or understand.  I think the overall characterization of my work is reflected in my ponderings;  resulting in both an organic and planetary, a micro and macro, aesthetic.

Adornment is an ancient practice that is rooted in distinction.  I've been careful to produce jewellery that is not considered on trend or in fashion, but rather, a timeless statement of wearable art infused with meaning for the both myself and the collector alike.
