The Kingston Limestone Collection

I first came to Kingston in 2010 to study at Queen’s University School of Business.  I marveled at how beautiful the aged architecture was.  in 1840 there was a great fire in Kingston which destroyed many downtown buildings.  City council voted that all new buildings built on city owned property be constructed with fire resistant limestone, which earned Kingston the nickname “Limestone City”.

This collection features both acid etched and sandblasted glass, which gives it a somewhat aged and weathered look.  The various shades of grey represent the limestone, the blue represents the university and the green represents City Park, where Artfest is held each year.
